Elvis Munis- Creator and Coordinator Elvis was born in the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. After a childhood spent shuffling between his grandmother’s house and a makeshift bed in an abandoned bus, Elvis has emerged an intelligent and thoughtful naturalist.He guides wildlife safaris, leads treks up Kilimanjaro, and teaches ecology to international high school and college students. Elvis is an avid birder and a self-taught speaker of five languages. He has led long distance biking tours including Tour d Afrique’s- Cairo to Cape Town trip in 2011.At the age of 15, Elvis first climbed Kilimanjaro as a porter to help pay for his school fees. Despite his academic success he has been struggling ever since then to obtain the finances necessary to continue his education. Elvis plans to get his PhD in Conservation Biology with a focus on Ornithology. One day he hopes to work in the Wildlife Division or TWIRI and to direct wildlife research in Tanzania. |
